Volunteer Opportunities

  • Become a Student Leader for Service Programs

Community Outreach at UConn involves developing students to become engaging citizens through meaningful service activities to improve the lives of students and other individuals in the community. Through immersive experiences with a large variety of programs offered, students are able to interact with important social and educational issues to better the lives of everyone around them. Service ranges from supporting literacy development and overall academic achievement in preschools, one-on-one mentoring in elementary schools, tutoring in middle schools, and providing children that have current stressors in their lives with role models and effective coping mechanisms. Student leaders in these positions will be able to work on their leadership skills alongside peers to maintain strong relationships with community partners, create an inclusive and welcoming community, and focus on reciprocity through collaboration and student health and wellbeing.

Please note that students must be vaccinated and adhere to the University’s masking and safety guidelines in order to participate in any in-person activities.
