  • Mask Up, Mansfield

Masks Required in Mansfield (A message from the Town of Mansfield & the Mansfield Downtown Partnership)

Welcome back, Huskies! On behalf of the Town of Mansfield, the Mansfield Downtown Partnership welcomes all new and returning students to our community.

As you are stocking up your apartments, meeting with friends, and grabbing a bite to eat, please know that Mansfield* requires everyone to wear a mask indoors – regardless of vaccination status.

The current rules went into effect with an Emergency Order issued by the Town Manager on August 14, 2021. The purpose is to protect the health of our entire community, including residents, visitors, business owners and employees, and students.

Per the Town Manager’s Emergency Order, masks are required:

    • For everyone in all indoor public spaces (e.g. Town Hall, Nash-Zimmer Transportation Center)
    • For everyone (employees and customers) indoors in private businesses, except when eating and drinking

Per State of Connecticut regulations, masks continue to be required:

    • On public transportation (e.g. WRTD, CTtransit buses)
    • In private transit (e.g. Uber, Lyft)
    • In healthcare facilities
    • In schools and childcare facilities

*As a point of information for our newest neighbors, Storrs is a village within the Town of Mansfield. The mask requirement applies to all indoor public spaces and private businesses within Storrs, Downtown Storrs, Mansfield Center, and Mansfield Depot.

Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Let’s all do our part to keep our community safe & healthy!
