  • Archaeology: Looking Back to See the Present

Introduction to Archaeology (Anthropology 2501) will be offered Fall 2021 on the Storrs campus. The course provides a survey of archaeological theories, methods, and techniques, including the many different ways archaeologists excavate, analyze, interprete, and present the past. Case studies from around the world highlight the political and cultural relevance of archaeology, how bias and historical contingency impact the questions archaeologists ask and the stories they tell, and how archaeology provides windows into multiple pasts, presents, and futures. No prior experience or prerequisites are needed, and the course may be converted for honors credit. Enroll now!
