  • Intro to Venture Capital and Hillside Ventures

Interested in joining Hillside or learning more about Venture Capital?

Students of all disciplines and at all academic levels are encouraged to register for MGMT/BADM 4895:  Introduction to Venture Capital.  The overall learning objective of this course is to gain a general understanding of the new venture startup process, how startups are funded, and the Venture Capital Industry in general.

This course is suitable for students across UConn with little or no exposure to business courses. The course will first review the startup process, exploring the different stages in the life of a startup, the need for, timing and types of funding appropriate for each stage. The second half of the course will focus more specifically on the funding of high potential ventures, the Angel, Venture Capital and Private Equity industries, and their role in taking a company public.

This course is open to all non-Business students as BADM 4895 and all Business students as MGMT 4895.
