The UConn Marching Band is the largest student organization on campus, with almost 300 members across over 100 majors. While some of our students come from active high school marching band programs, about 25% of our members come in with little to no marching experience. We pride ourselves on creating an inclusive and welcoming environment that enables every member to achieve excellence. We are confident in our belief that the band will be outside on our rehearsal field in Fall 2021! Plans surrounding Covid mitigation are still under development and are largely dependent on other decisions made by the University. The UCMB is planning for any and every level activity, staying flexible, and eager to make music again this fall!
We are welcoming musicians in every section of the 2021 UCMB, especially brass, bass guitar, and color guard.
Interested? Fill out our 2021 Membership Application and don’t forget to enroll in MUSI 1108-001 (Grad Level: MUSI 5305-001). Participation in the UConn Marching Band qualifies musicians for consideration in the Spring Pep Band, which travels with the UConn Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams!
