"[3+2] Cycloadditions with Strained Dipolarophiles"

This talk will explore the synthesis of strained spirocyclic isoxazolines from 2-methyleneoxetanes and similar heterocycles. Larger homologs (tetrahydrofurans and tetrahydropyrans) show biological utility, making these strained spirocycles of potential interest as pharmaceutical candidates. Stereochemical implications of the substituted 2-methyleneoxetanes will be explored.
