  • Help UConn Win a National Community Service Award

The University of Connecticut is applying for the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the “highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning, and civic engagement” (United States Government), and we need your input to succeed. This award recognizes student community service work completed between July 1, 2012 and June 30, 2013.

Please complete this survey by Wednesday, February 19, 2014 so that your organization’s hard work can be included in UConn's application: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/UConnHonorRoll2014Student. The survey has sections for your statistics as well as an optional area to highlight a specific service related initiative. Estimates are acceptable, but we are committed to never exaggerating our data so please be conservative. You can review the survey questions before submitting your data by downloading the pdf here: http://bit.ly/1ej35CU

Through student, faculty, and staff support last year, UConn was able to report that more than 17,500 UConn students engaged in over 1.4 million hours of service through volunteerism, academic service-learning, and internships. Because of this great data, The University of Connecticut was named among five 2013 Presidential Award winners in the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.

IMPORTANT: If you were a leader of multiple organizations, please complete the survey separately for each organization.
