  • 2/2 Free Livestream Lessons With UConn Swing & Blues

Interested in learning how to dance? UConn Swing & Blues teaches beginner-friendly dance lessons every Tuesday! Swing dance is a culmination of dance styles created by the African American dance community, originating from the Harlem Renaissance in 1920s New York City, encompassing everything from Charleston to Lindy Hop to Jive.

Join us for some in-person lessons this week at the Storrs Congregational Church Parish House (directions on Facebook)! This week, learn two popular dance routines in the social dance community: The Shim Sham, and Hound Dog. Lessons are capped at 25 people (UConn Storrs students only), first come first serve!

All levels of dance experience are welcome. Learn how to dance from the comfort of your dorm, no partners required! We are an LGBTQ+ safe space. Lessons are free to watch, and moderators will be answering questions to the best of their abilities. Check our Facebook out for our in-person lesson COVID-19 regulations!
