The UConn Nursing School simulation lab is meant to recreate a hospital setting for UConn nursing students - fully equipped with a 'patient' (mannequin) and typical medical equipment. This semester, all volunteering will be virtual and may look different from previous semesters. The essence of volunteering will remain the same- Community Outreach volunteers will play the role of a friend or family member in an attempt to give a more realistic experience. Volunteers will portray the challenges many loved ones face in a hospital setting - then help evaluate the nursing student's interactions and suggest improvements on their approach. Each week will address a different topic/illness/situation. (*no nursing students allowed)
