Have you been looking for a new way to get involved on campus? Do you like working with children? If so, consider joining Urban Impact CT at the Storrs campus! Our organization will work with the Urban Impact Charity to provide unique opportunities to Bridgeport, CT middle schoolers and a unique service opportunity to passionate students at UConn.
Our organization aims to inspire middle schoolers towards higher education through organizing & leading a hands-on field trip. As part of our organization, you would be responsible for working with a group to prepare for our events throughout the year. In addition, you would be able to take part in a close-knit, friendly environment of UConn students who want to make a fundamental difference in their community.
The organization, originally born out of Bridgeport, is brand new to the UConn campus. It is being funded by UConn's Change Grant and will be shaped by the ideas that you have throughout the semester! The club will assist in creating a sense of community throughout campus and educate members about several social justice issues throughout the semester.
Join us this week at the involvement fair on Wednesday from 3-6pm and Friday from 11am-3pm to ask questions and meet our E-board!
We are looking for volunteers and members to join our club on upcoming events such as mentoring high school students, creating literacy kits, and planning our virtual field trip for Bridgeport students in the upcoming spring!
This semester, our club meetings are all virtual. Our meetings are every monday via Zoom. If interested in joining, we can be reached out through our instagram and email.
