Innterested in learning how to dance? UConn Swing & Blues teaches beginner-friendly dance lessons every Tuesday! Swing dance is a culmination of dance styles created by the African American dance community, originating from the Harlem Renaissance in 1920s New York City, encompassing everything from Charleston to Lindy Hop to Jive.
Tune into our livestream on our official Facebook page, or our YouTube channel to watch. This week we'll be going over the basic steps of 6-count and 8-count swing, as well as some beginner blues steps.
All levels of dance experience are welcome. Learn how to dance from the comfort of your dorm, no partners required! We are an LGBTQ+ safe space. Lessons are free to watch, and moderators will be answering questions to the best of their abilities.
