In Memoriam

  • Passing of Student Orkan Olgac (aka Chris Rogers)

We are sad to share with the UConn community the passing of one of our students, Orkan Olgac (a.k.a. Chris Rogers). Orkan (Chris) passed away unexpectedly on January 13, 2021.  Orkan (Chris) was a School of Business student with a major in Health Care Management and a minor in Analytics and a member of the Honors Program. He began his enrollment at UConn in fall 2017. He was from Mansfield, Connecticut.

Orkan (Chris) was very involved in many aspects of the UConn Community. He was the president of the Health Care Management Society and the International Business Society and a member of the Birding Club, Communication Society, Marketing Society, and the Turkish Student Association. He spent three years working in the Student Union, most recently as a Building Manager. Orkan (Chris) was a student dedicated to learning and making the most of his UConn experience. He represented the best of UConn and his loss will be difficult to process.

At this point in time we don’t have information about services for Orkan (Chris). Condolences to the Olgac family can be sent to the Dean of Students Office, 233 Glenbrook Road, Unit-4062, Storrs, Connecticut 06269-4062.
