  • 2/5 Volunteer with the Husky Ambassador Program

Attend a volunteer training WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 5th in Laurel Hall room 305 from 7:00-7:30 OR 7:30-8:00pm!!!

Who are we?  The Husky Ambassador Program is a student-run organization that works in conjunction with the Admissions Staff to recruit UConn’s incoming class of freshmen.  We are a group of student volunteers and coordinators who enjoy going to school here at UConn and want to share that excitement with prospective students, parents and even guidance counselors.

What do we do?  As a program our volunteers work as volunteers to staff the Open Houses (fall and spring).  In addition we run a program called Husky-for-a-Day where current and prospective students are paired to spend a day on campus.  As current student volunteers you would take the prospective student to a class, residence hall and to eat a meal in a dining hall (meal validations are provided for the guest).  We also ask student volunteers to participate in a variety of other special events throughout the year, such as guidance counselor visits.

How much of a commitment is volunteering for our program?  We do not hold regular meetings or mandatory events for any of our volunteers, except a short, half-hour training session at the start of the school year.  You can also volunteer as much as you choose, or as little depending on your availability.  Most importantly however, we appreciate all the help we receive from our volunteers throughout the year.
