Interested in learning how to dance? UConn Swing & Blues teaches beginner-friendly dance lessons every Tuesday! Swing dance is a culmination of dance styles created by the African American dance community, originating from the Harlem Renaissance in 1920s New York City, encompassing everything from Charleston to Lindy Hop to Jive.
We're holding our bi-weekly in-person lesson this week, Tuesday, October 6th, at the Storrs Congregational Church Parish House! We'll be teaching more on the Charleson, and Body Rolls! The attendance cap on our in-person lessons is 25 people so make sure you get here on time (first come, first serve)! For more information on the guidelines, check our Facebook page. Can't attend in-person? Tune into our livestream on our official Facebook page, or our YouTube channel to watch.
All levels of dance experience are welcome. Learn how to dance from the comfort of your dorm, no partners required! We are an LGBTQ+ safe space. Lessons are free to watch, and moderators will be answering questions to the best of their abilities.
