  • Join Sing for Hope

Do you enjoy singing or playing an instrument? Do you believe in the healing power of music? Are you looking to get involved in a club where you can do what you love and make a difference in the community?

If so, come join “Sing for Hope,” a club at UConn. In this club, volunteers from our school visit local hospitals, nursing homes, and rehabilitation centers to sing and play music for patients and visitors. Due to COVID-19, we will not be able to perform in person this semester. Instead, we will perform virtually and record our group and solo performances to send to the local facilities. The goal of this organization is to improve the wellness and quality of life of people who either cannot leave their beds or are staying in some type of facility, and to offer a moment of rest and ease to people dealing with pain/discomfort or awaiting difficult surgeries. We want to provide uplift, joy, and inspiration to patients, their families, and facility staff. We believe that music can heal, inspire, and unite, and that it is a right, not a privilege.
