  • Social Identity Awareness Training (Online)

Join us for a voluntary identity exploration activity sponsored by the Office for Diversity and Inclusion, the Department of Residential Life, and the Department of Student Activities. The 60-minute online activity consisting of 8 undergraduate participants and 1-2 facilitators is meant to provide a safe space for reflecting, listening, and discussing how one’s social (including race) and personal identity influences how we engage with people from different backgrounds. Students participating are required to complete the “Social Identity Activity worksheet” before participation. The sessions will run through the following dates: Sept 18 from 12pm- 5 pm, Sept 21 from 1:00 pm-7 pm, Sept 22nd from 1 pm- 7 pm, and Sept 23 from 1:00 pm to 8 pm. Multiple sessions available during these day for same time slots.

This activity will follow other voluntary opportunities for more discussions and engagement with racial identity through events sponsored by the cultural institutes at UConn and the 1-credit Anti-Black racism course.
