Interested in learning how to dance? UConn Swing & Blues is beginning our fall curriculum this upcoming Tuesday, Septemer 8th, teaching introductory steps for swing and blues dancing. Swing dance is a culmination of dance styles created by the African American dance community, originating from the Harlem Renaissance in 1920s New York City, encompassing everything from Charleston to Lindy Hop to Jive.
Tune into our livestream on our official Facebook page, or our YouTube channel to watch our lesson. All levels of dance experience are welcome. Learn how to dance from the comfort of your dorm, no partners required! We are an LGBTQ+ safe space. Lessons are free to watch, and moderators will be answering questions to the best of their abilities.
Introduction to Swing Dancing: 7:30-8:00pm
Introduction to Blues Dancing: 8:00-8:30pm.
