The Daily Campus is looking for cartoonists, comic artists, and illustrators to create content to be featured in our print newspaper and on our website. Any UConn student is eligible to submit content so long as it is professional, appropriate, and of good-quality.
Cartoonists and comic artists are invited to submit pieces with any subject matter that interests them — politics, current events, pop culture — or to design their own storylines and characters. Comic/cartoon artists can submit work as often as twice a week or as rarely as they like.
Illustrators are invited to work with the Daily Campus to provide images to accompany articles. These will most commonly be Opinion pieces, but could also be News or Life stories that don't lend well to photography. We would aim to give you a brief description of the article about a week in advance, and put you in contact with the writer to ensure the illustration matches to the story as both develop. Illustrations may be printed in the paper, but more importantly will accompany content online.
If an artist provides consistent and good-quality work to The Daily Campus, there are opportunities to get paid.
