  • Reimagine Education in Cool Philosophy Class

Reimagine education in theory and in praxis with us!

Who are we? A student-led class ran by graduate and undergraduate students, faculty, community activist, and teachers.

What do we mean when we say we are student-led? We choose what time we meet, what readings we read, and how we are evaluated in the class.

    What are our objectives?

    • We work to break barriers, ceilings, and structures and provide alternatives to the systems that exist through research, teaching, scholarship, activism, healing work and dialogue. Together, we work to creatively critique oppressive or colonial theories and practices, as well as provide an intellectual space to create alternatives to them.

    • We work to create community. To create community requires a sustained commitment to each other and our shared futures over time.

    •  We aim to fully actualize the university as a vehicle for social transformation. We create projects in the spirit of community and collaboration where no one is disposable and every human is of value.

    • Through research and dialogue, we support each other's process of finding belonging, fulfillment, and success in careers both in and out of academia. This means supporting each other in figuring out what belonging, fulfillment, and success look like. It also means supporting each other in developing the skills necessary to research responsibly, build community, develop classrooms founded on an ethic of love, and develop research projects that we are proud of.
