The Muslim Students Association at UConn and Helping Hand for Relief and Development Present: 5K for Kashmir!
The Indian Government has placed 8 million people in the Muslim majority territory of Kashmir under a complete military lockdown for the past 59 days and counting. No humanitarian or relief agency has been allowed to enter or provide aid to the people of kashmir. There is a shortage of food, water, and medical supplies, curfews have been imposed, all internet and telecommunication lines are cut, and nightly raids, arrests, torture and the use of pellet guns have increased.
We believe it is our responsibility to help our Muslim brothers and sisters in Kashmir and have decided to collaborate with Helping Hand for Relief and Development to join them as they provide relief to Jammu and Kashmir.
The 5K will be on Saturday, November 2nd from 10 AM to 1 PM on Fairfield Way.

Shirts will be available to purchase for $10 on the day of the event!!
All proceeds from the 5K will go to the Kashmir Relief Fund to assist the vulnerable communities in Jammu and Kashmir.
