Volunteer with Community Outreach, at the Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation!
Do you have experience working with the elderly population? Or do you have an interest in building meaningful connections with senior citizens? Generations Connect-MCNR is a semester long service program that allows UConn students to serve with residents of the Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Participants at MCNR assist in arts and crafts, holiday-themed parties and cognition-strengthening games planned by the recreational directors. Program days include Mondays 2:00-4:00 and Tuesdays 2:00-4:00. Participants commit to one of these times and are expected to attend weekly.
This program is a great experience for anyone interested in health or social services careers. The application process involves answering the questions below and a brief interview. Transportation is provided!
If you are interested, send the answers to these application questions to uconn.co.genconnect@gmail.com by the end of the day Friday, February 1st:
1. First and Last Name
2. Major and Year
3. Email address
4. Why is community service important to you?
5. What attracts you to Generations Connect?
6. The volunteer position is a semester long program. Do you feel confident that you could attend nearly every week of volunteering if chosen? Are you free Mondays and/or Tuesdays 2-4?
