  • 1/28 UConn Enters Voting stage for Special Non-Profit

A group of first year students from Uconn have been working diligently throughout the first semsester of this year with the goal of bringing Camp Kesem to the Storrs area. Camp Kesem is a national non-profit organization that provides a free transforative week of summer camp to students with parents afflicted by cancer as well as events for the children throughout the year. It allows for University students to run almost every element of their school's chapter. The proposed camp is currently in it's voting stage, meaning that Uconn is being pitted against 12 other schools from around the country for funding and the rights to opperate a Kesem Chapter The voting is going to take place Jan 28th through Feb 1st. Tecehnically an indivisual can vote four times in one day! Once from a computer or mobile phone via vote.kesem.org, and by sharing the Uconn Link on Facebook and Twitter. This is a very worthwhile cause and would provide a very unique oppertunity for Uconn students to interact and help children going through living hell while also gaining strength from their stories and growing as humans.
