Are you interested in medicine and healthcare? Do you want to put a portion of your Winter Break to good use by helping the less fortunate? If so, you may be interested in UConn's Pre-Medical Society's Alternative Break, Bridge to Guanin!
Bridge to Guanin sends a student-run trip to the Dominican Republic each year to shadow in Santo Domingo hospitals, make home visits to people in need of care, and organize large-scale medical clinics in the small rural community of La Piedra, where many citizens are imporverished and lacking adequate healthcare. We also support the community's efforts to establish educational, athletic, and medicinal programs.
