SUBJECT: Fall 2013 Student Early Arrival to Housing Process
It is time to arrange for undergraduates who need to move into on-campus housing prior to the official opening of the residence halls August 23, 2013.
Any program that needs students to return early so they can participate in a University sponsored event or program must forward the name and contact information of your program’s coordinator to Pamela Schipani at p.schipani@uconn.edu by June 14, 2013. The Program Coordinator is responsible for inputting information about the early arrival students into a database managed by Residential Life.
The Early Arrival Process for undergraduate students begins on Monday, August 19, 2013 and ends on Thursday, August 22, 2013. We will not allow continuing students to arrive on Friday, August 23, 2013. Arrival and check-in on Friday, August 23, 2013 is for newly admitted freshmen and transfer students, and their siblings ONLY.
Approved early arrival students can move in at no additional housing fees on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 between 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM., and Thursday, August 22, 2013 between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
If University departments/programs need their students to arrive on Monday, August 29, 2013 or Tuesday, August 20, 2013, the sponsoring program will be charged $25 per day per student until August 21, 2013.
If a student is part of an early arrival group, but not placed on the early arrival list by the August 1, 2013 deadline, the student will be charged $75 per day.
No changes can be made to the list after the August 1, 2013 deadline.
Individual students (not associated with an early arrival group) will be charged $75 a day if they register to return prior to our official opening date of August 23, 2013. A processing fee of $75 is charged to any student not pre-register to arrive early.
Students in the early arrival database will receive detailed instructions about check-in via e-mail from Residential Life.
