You are invited to participate in a CETL teaching talk on “Conducting Classroom Discussions” on Monday, April 24, from 1:30 to 2:45 pm in ROWE 319. This is one of a series of informal discussions aimed at sharing teaching concerns and discussing techniques and strategies with colleagues and CETL staff.
At this session, participants will discuss topics like
- The attributes of effective classroom discussions
- Moderating discussions about contentous and divisive issues
- How to encourage students to speak and assess students’ contributions to class discussions
- Conducting discussion in a STEM classroom
