Volunteers Wanted for a Research Study

The Immediate Effects of Deep Neck Flexor Activation on Rotator Cuff Activation and Strength.

Do you want to learn more about your neck and shoulder strength? The purpose of this research is to learn more about the connection between neck, shoulder and hand musculature. A researcher will test your neck, shoulder and hand strength. You will be taught an activity that activates your neck muscles and then a researcher will test your shoulder and grip strength again.

You must be 18 years old or older. You cannot participate in this study if you are receiving care for a shoulder injury in your dominant arm including, but not limited to a dislocation or a torn rotator cuff, or if you are unable to follow directions.

You will learn more about your shoulder and neck muscle strength.

Research will be conducted at Gampel Pavilion. You may contact Maryclaire Capetta at 860-486-0048 or maryclaire.capetta@uconn.edu if you would like more information about the study.

This study was approved by the UConn IRB. Study Protocol Number H17-023.
