    What is multiple sclerosis?
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is one of the most common diseases of the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord). Today more than 2.3 million people around the world have MS. The severity of the disease, the course it takes, and its symptoms vary from person to person. In milder cases, there may be numbness in the limbs, while in severe cases paralysis or blindness may occur. For everyone with MS, it makes life unpredictable.
