You are invited to participate in a CETL teaching talk on “Active Learning.” The talk takes place on Friday, November 4th, 10:00 - 11:15 a.m., in ROWE 319. This is one of a series of informal discussions aimed at sharing teaching concerns and discussing techniques and strategies with colleagues, experts, and CETL staff.
At this session, participants will discuss topics like
- When to lecture vs. letting students learn on their own
- Opening the lecture to increase active learning
- Strategies to activate the classroom (projects, activities, etc.)
- Specific things to consider
- Overcoming obstacles to active learning
All UConn instructors—graduate students, TAs, and APIRs, as well as adjunct, tenure-track and tenured faculty—are encouraged to attend.
Please email Stacey Valliere at CETL@uconn.edu (860-486-2686) to register.
