On Monday, October 10th, CSD’s MyAccess for Instructors will be updated.
What's new?
Students with Approved Accommodations:
“Students with Approved Accommodations” are now displayed in your account by class and not by sections - You will have one list per class.
Note: You may see a student several times on your lists if that student has been approved for accommodations and is enrolled in different sections - You will also see each accommodations letter and what accommodations the student is approved for in each section (accommodations may vary between lectures, discussions, labs, etc.).
New exam request form for the students:
We now ask students to enter the “class date & time” the exam is scheduled to be taken, and the students’ “preferred date & time” to take the exam in those cases that the student cannot take an exam at the same time/day as the class. If a student cannot take an exam at the same time/day as the class, then we will ask the student to type in a reason why they are requesting a different time/day.
Note: It is CSD’s policy that students take exams at the scheduled time/day of the course unless the faculty member approves an alternate time.
When we schedule the exam, the confirmation email that you receive will include why the student requested a different time/day.
Type of exams are now: exam, final and quiz. (midterm is not an option anymore).
Exam administration - Exam preferences:
Material allowed – More options are provided and you can provide more details regarding materials allowed by students taking your exams.
Paper exam vs Online (HuskyCT or other) – You can now tell us if your exams will be online!
Upload exams – You can upload files once and reuse them later on for another class/section/student.
Upload larger files – You can now upload files up to 64 MB in size (before 4 MB).
MyAccess can be accessed from the CSD website at http://csd.uconn.edu/ (NetID and password required).
The CSD appreciates faculty assistance with administering their course exams for students’ with approved accommodations in class or within their departments whenever possible. Faculty who are unable to proctor their own exams may want to consider contacting UConn's Testing Center, a computer based testing center where faculty can schedule to have their exams closely monitored by UConn proctors. More information about the Testing Center can be found at http://testingcenter.uconn.edu/
