    Title:                      “MRI for Low Back Pain:  Reducing Low Valve Care and Patient Harm Through

                                      Better Decision Making and Patient Education”

    Learning Objectives:  Participants will (be able to):

     

    1. Discuss evidence based indications for MRI to evaluate LBP.
    2. Identify current trends regarding evidence based incongruent use of MRI for LBP.
    3. Describe evidence of adverse patient outcomes due to unsupported MRI for LBP.
    4. Review additional materials and strategies to improve patient informed decisions regarding LBP and MRI.

     

    Target Audience:  The Department of Medicine faculty, housestaff and students, though many topics

    will be of interest to housestaff, students and other faculty members within the University of CT Schools

    of Medicine and Dental Medicine..

     

    Accreditation: The University of Connecticut School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
