UConn Global Affairs invites you to nominate students for an exciting summer opportunity: the Universitas 21 (U21) Summer School: Traditional Chinese Medicine and its Culture. The summer school will take place between July 4 – July 18, 2016 at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Shanghai.
This annual event brings together students and faculty from the twenty-five universities in the U21 consortium for intensive discourse on critical global issues. This year’s summer school aims to attract science students who will focus on interdisciplinary issues ranging from traditional Chinese medicine to medical device engineering manufacturing, and will include visits to academic and commercial pharmaceutical labs. Lectures and student research opportunities in all areas of drug discovery, development and manufacturing will be interspersed with hands on involvement in clinical practice, social activities and tours to promote networking and stimulate discussion. For more information on the summer school, go to http://www.universitas21.com/event/details/244/u21-summer-school-traditional-chinese-medicine-and-its-culture
Please support us in identifying the best student applicants to represent UConn at this prestigious international event. Nominate up to four undergraduate students whom you think will both benefit from and contribute to the overall program. UConn will cover the costs of airfare and accommodations. UConn students will only need their own money for transfers to and from the airport, meals not covered by the conference and personal costs.
To nominate a student, please go to http://globalpartnerships.uconn.edu/universitas-21/universitas-21-summer-school/ and click on Nomination Form under 2016 U21 Summer School. Log in using your Net ID. If you wish to accompany your student to the summer school, please indicate it on the nomination form. Please note that there is no registration fee for this event, however faculty participants will be responsible for associated travel and accommodation costs.
After you nominate the students, they will be invited to formally apply on the Education Abroad website. All faculty nominations must be received by February 1, 2016. Student applications are due on March 1, 2016. Final decisions will be announced on or after March 15, 2016.
