The University of Connecticut Technology Incubation (TIP) Intern Program received front-page coverage in Monday’s Hartford Courant. The UConn TIP Intern Program, established by Dr. Caroline Dealy of UConn Health in 2012, connects talented UConn undergrads, recent grads, and Masters students with tech startup companies who are part of UConn’s incubator. In addition to their paid work with the startups, interns must attend educational seminars and make presentations summarizing their projects as part of the program. Several students will continue on with the startups in full or part-time jobs after completing their internships.
UConn's Technology Incubation Program, which offers startup companies access to university facilities, business support, and lab and/or office space, was established in 2004 and currently provides incubator space to more than 20 companies at its campuses in Storrs, Farmington and Avery Point. An expansion at the Farmington facility will provide nearly 20,000 additional square feet, and will be completed in December 2015.
