The Office of the Vice President for Research would like to congratulate UConn Health’s Dr. Robert Clark, MD on his $454,813 award from the Connecticut Bioscience Innovation Fund (CBIF) for his project involving further development of a multiple sclerosis (MS) blood-based biomarker diagnostic test that clearly distinguishes healthy individuals from those with MS. CBIF, which is managed by Connecticut Innovations, seeks to drive innovation in the biosciences throughout Connecticut by providing focused financial assistance to startups, early-stage businesses, nonprofit organizations and accredited colleges and universities. Click here for more information on CBIF. Dr. Clark’s project will have a significant impact on diagnosing MS, since there is currently no single test that can make a definite diagnosis. Dr. Clark is working in collaboration with Dr. Frank Nichols at UCHC. Congratulations, Dr. Clark!
