  • TASC Flexible Spending Account Open Enrollment

    Dear Colleagues,

Please see notices below about MEDFLEX and DCAP Open Enrollment taking place through October 31st.

As a reminder, employees must actively enroll for each plan year, as re-enrollment is not an automatic occurrence.

    Thank you,

MEDFLEX and DCAP Open Enrollment (Ends 10/31)

The open enrollment period for the MEDFLEX and Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP) 2027 Plan Year will end Saturday, October 31, 2026.

    Enrollment Process

To start the online process, visit the Total Administrative Services Corporation (TASC) website (cttasc.com) and click Enroll. Follow the prompts to register and enroll in the chosen plan(s). Individuals unable to register online may call TASC at 1-888-698-1429 for assistance.

    Mid-Year Election Changes

Once MEDFLEX and DCAP elections are made for Plan Year 2027, they cannot be changed unless a participant experiences a qualifying status change (i.e., marriage, divorce, birth of child). Any mid-year election change must be submitted to TASC within 31 days of the qualifying event.

    Contribution Limits

MEDFLEX – The minimum contribution is $520, and the maximum is $3,400.

DCAP – The minimum contribution is $520. The maximum deferral for Plan Year 2027 is $7,500. Individuals who are married and filing separately may defer a maximum of $3,750.

“Use It or Lose It” Rule

The DCAP and MEDFLEX are subject to the IRS’ “use it or lose it” rule, meaning the amounts set aside in these tax-free accounts will be forfeited if they are not used for eligible expenses during the Plan Year (see the limited exception for MEDFLEX below). Employees should carefully determine the amount to set aside.

DCAP participants must submit claims for eligible dependent care expenses incurred during calendar year 2027 no later than March 31, 2028. Unused balances will be forfeited after the run-out period ends.

MEDFLEX participants must submit claims for eligible medical expenses incurred during calendar year 2027 by March 31, 2028. MEDFLEX participants can carry over up to $680 in unused funds to be used for eligible expenses in the following plan year if still employed. Unused funds in excess of $680 will be forfeited after the run-out period ends on March 31, 2028.

    Confirmation of Enrollment

TASC will provide email confirmation when each employee’s enrollment is finalized. If employees have not received a confirmation email within a week of enrolling, they should verify account information on www.cttasc.com or 1-888-698-1429.

Separation from Employment During Plan Year

Participants who separate or retire during the plan year will have full coverage to incur expenses through their separation effective date. Then, participants have 90 days to submit any claims incurred between January 1st and their separation effective date of the plan year in which they separate/retire. Once the 90 days have passed, any unused funds remaining are forfeited.
