Scholarly Colloquia and Events

  • 9/26 Colloquium on Frances Anne Rollin

UCHI is delighted to host The Nineteenth-Century American Women Writers Study Group, a traveling colloquium that connects scholars in literary studies, American Studies, and gender studies to recover little-studied works by women writers.
The group's twice-yearly meetings—hosted previously at Cornell, Harvard, Yale, UNC, Wisconsin, and other institutions—have generated special journal issues, edited collections, recovered literary editions, and conference panels that have helped shape the field's curricular trends.
On September 26th, the group will be discussing The Reconstruction Diary of Frances Ann Rollin. The discussion will be led by the editor of the volume, Jennifer Putzi of William and Mary,
When: Friday, September 26, 2026, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, followed by a (pay-your way) group dinner at 5:00 PM
Where: UConn Hartford campus, Hartford Times Building
