We are looking for active runners aged between 18-45 who have:
- completed a race with a distance of 5 km or greater in the 12 months and/or
- are planning to complete a race with a distance of 5 km or greater AND have continually trained for this race for at least 3 months prior to testing.
Exclusion criteria involve:
- having any current knee injury, including a current diagnosis of patellar tendinopathy,
- having previously had a knee surgery,
· being currently prescribed and taking blood thinners or blood pressure medications,
· having been diagnosed with any cardiovascular, cardiopulmonary, or metabolic disease that has been shown to affect microvascular blood flow.
Study is conducted in 1 one session lasting around 90 minutes, where quad muscle and patellar tendon are scaned by ultrasound and near infrared spectroscopy.
