UConn Connects is a mentorship program coordinated by the Academic Achievement Center with a 30-year history of supporting students on academic notice return to good standing.
Mentors are UConn faculty, staff, and graduate students who meet once a week in-person with an undergraduate student for about an hour. Mentors work to build a connection that holistically supports academic success through referrals to campus resources, developing organizational skills and leaning into meaningful study strategies. Mentors will receive an orientation and ongoing support throughout their mentor experience by the AAC.
Students benfit from the individualized support and knowing someone at UConn cares about their success!
Some of the best mentors have had their own academic and life struggles and are willing to create a safe space for a student to share their challenges and problem solve together.
