Bio:
Kyungmin Lee is an incoming Assistant Professor and Sustainability Director at Adelphi University. Her research lies at the intersection of climate and energy policy, urban systems, and data science, with a focus on developing evidence-based solutions to environmental challenges. She employs mixed-methods approaches that integrate quantitative modeling and qualitative analysis to examine sustainability, public health, and socioeconomic dimensions of energy and environmental policy. Her work advances the use of AI and data-driven methods in policymaking, particularly through computer vision and machine learning applied to spatiotemporal data such as remote sensing and infrared imagery. She is especially interested in semantic scene understanding and non-intrusive measurement of human-environment interactions, with applications in areas such as building energy use, urban heat mitigation, and climate adaptation policy.
Dr. Lee holds a Ph.D. in Energy and Environmental Policy from the Joseph R. Biden, Jr. School of Public Policy and Administration at the University of Delaware.
