Special Enrollment for Voluntary Benefits through Alliant Insurance Services
We are pleased to announce a special enrollment opportunity for supplemental benefits, available through Alliant Insurance Services, who have assumed the administrative responsibilities previously provided by College Benefits Group, LLC for employees of the University of Connecticut. This special enrollment period will be held from May 1, 2026 – May 31, 2026. Alliant will be reaching out to university employees directly from uconnenrollment@alliant.com.
During this enrollment period, you have access to the following benefit options that are guaranteed issue (no medical underwriting questions). Future enrollment requests after May 31, 2026, may require a medical questionnaire to purchase this coverage:
- Short-Term Disability (The Hartford)
- Long-Term Disability (The Hartford)
- Universal Life Insurance (MetLife)
These programs are designed to help provide additional financial protection and peace of mind for you and your family during your employment. These benefits are portable, allowing you to keep this coverage after separation from UConn.

Licensed Benefit Counselors are available to assist you Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM EST. Employees who currently hold active insurance policies previously administered by College Benefits Group, LLC will continue to receive dedicated support through Alliant.
