The UConn Department of Music, in collaboration with the Gladstein Family Human Rights Institute, invites the university community to attend Jazz & Justice Suite: A Multi-Movement Declaration, an original performance by UConn Jazz Faculty.
This multi-movement work is inspired by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, with each piece exploring a different theme through music, narration, and improvisation. The program reflects on issues including racial justice, political participation, gender equality, environmental advocacy, and the right to education.
Blending artistic expression with human rights inquiry, Jazz & Justice Suite offers a compelling and timely exploration of global challenges through the lens of jazz.
