  • 2/18 Collective Healing: Full Spectrum Listening

In current contexts we’re surrounded by a constant barrage of information and crises leading to isolation, worsening mental health concerns, and disconnect from our communities. It’s difficult to feel like we can show up to multiple spaces as our whole selves. To counter these phenomena, we want to create an environment where people feel seen, heard, valued and where people can show up as their full selves. While many have named this goal, we want to answer the questions: what does this take? What work does creating a humanizing environment require?

To create humanizing environments, it requires time, intention, and skill to both hear (actively listen) and be heard (storytelling). Through structured storytelling and intentional listening, in this event participants will explore what role healing has in creating humanizing environments. Join us for a Full Spectrum Listening activity—a guided community exercise that goes beyond traditional active listening to engage multiple "wavelengths" of understanding: emotions, values, actions, and relationships. Each person will be invited to share a short 2 minute story of a time they engaged in a healing process. This reflective space invites us to notice not just what is said, but how we listen and connect with one another.
