    As a Connecticut state agency, the University of Connecticut is required to be in compliance with Connecticut General Statute (CGS) §46a-68.  To satisfy the compliance obligation, specifically sections 46a-68-75 through 46a-68-114, inclusive, the University compiles and submits an annual Affirmative Action Plan (Plan) to the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities.  This report details The University’s good faith efforts to achieve equal employment opportunity.  Additionally, the University is required to notify all employees of the opportunity to review the Plan and distribute relevant non-discrimination policies and procedures as indicated in the following regulation:

    Sec. 46a-68-79. Internal communication

    The policy statement and a summary of the objectives of the plan shall be posted by the agency in a prominent and accessible location and distributed, electronically where practicable, and in written form where electronic distribution is not practicable, at least annually to all agency employees. All employees shall be notified, by the agency head or designee of their right to a reasonable period to review and comment upon the agency affirmative action plan. All comments regarding the agency affirmative action plan shall be addressed to the equal employment opportunity officer, who shall be identified by name and address in all agency affirmative action plan communications.
