  • Efficacy of a Cooling Vest on Thermoregulation

You are invited to participate in a research study directed by the Korey Stringer Institute. The
research aim is to explore how a commercially available cooling vest impacts the body cooling
    surrounding exercise in the heat.

Information from this study will contribute to improvements and advancements of heat
mitigation strategies for athletes, works, and warfighters.

You may be eligible to participate if:
    1. You are willing to perform box lifting and treadmill walking, jogging, and running in the heat
    2. You are physically active and between 18-35 years old
    3. You are cleared by the medical monitor to participate
For the study, you will be asked to meet research staff at the Mission Heat Lab in the Department
of Kinesiology at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, CT, for 7 research trials ranging from 20 minutes to
~4 hours each. The estimated total time spent in the study is around 10.5 hours.

Upon completion of the study, you will be compensated based on the number of trials completed.
Note: withdrawal from study may result in loss of eligibility for the incentives.
Please note that being eligible to participate does not guarantee your participation in this study.
There is still a chance that you might not be enrolled in the study based on certain factors,
including not being able to demonstrate a certain level of fitness as measured by a VO2max
    assessment.
