  • Customer Records Update in KFS

On Wednesday, 10/29, changes were made to customer records in the Accounts Receivable module in KFS.  This was a vendor-initiated enhancement to the KFS Cloud product.

Please review the information below carefully and email accountsreceivable@uconn.edu with any questions or concerns.

    Summary of Changes:

Sponsored Programs agencies were migrated into customer records within KFS.

There is a new “Record Type” dropdown with the following options: Customer, Sponsor, and Customer/Sponsor. Please mark All AR customers as “Customer”, and never “Sponsor” or “Customer/Sponsor”.

Additional values are available in the Customer Type dropdown. AR customers should not be assigned to any Customer Type beginning with “SPS”, as those are reserved for Sponsored Programs.

Several customer fields were consolidated. Most data was migrated to other sections of the customer record; however, some infrequently used or redundant fields (such as Contact Phone Number) were not retained.

KFDM tables were updated to reflect these changes.  If you encounter issues with a WebFocus report, please submit a ticket to techsupport@uconn.edu and Cc accountsreceivable@uconn.edu so we are aware of the issue.

A new customer upload template will be available after 10/30. Departments that upload customer records via batch file should not upload customer files until they have the new template.  Accounts Receivable will reach out to departments who upload via batch file with the new template once it is available.
