Global Affairs is delighted to announce that Dr. Kathryn Libal has been reappointed as the Director of the Gladstein Family Human Rights Institute for a five-year term renewal. Dr. Libal is also a Professor at the UConn School of Social Work.
Dr. Libal has led the Gladstein Family Human Rights Institute since 2015. Under her leadership the Institute has undergone significant development and transformation, including the growth of the human rights graduate certificate and undergraduate major, the establishment of a master's program in human rights, and the incorporation of Dodd Impact Programs to the Institute. These efforts have advanced UConn's engagement with critical global issues and interdisciplinary scholarship in human rights, positioning UConn as a leader in the field. We look forward to Dr. Libal's continued contributions and leadership in the years ahead.
