STEMovies is a new event by ManyMentors that aims to encourage broad interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) by showing a thought-provoking film that highlights the intrigue, complexity, and importance of STEM in our society.
This coming Sunday, November 16th is our first STEMovies event! We will be showing Rise of the Planet of the Apes in the African American Cultural Center (AACC) at 4PM. Following the movie showing will be a short discussion to reveal current scientific research or technological advances, providing the perfect combination of entertainment and enlightenment.
This event will be open to all UConn students, faculty, and the public who wish to enjoy a STEM-inspired move in a non-academic setting. There will be tons of free food, drinks, and popcorn so invite your friends!
