APPOINTS Director of Residential Living and Education
The Division of Student Life and Enrollment has appointed Amy Crim as the Director of Residential Living and Education. In this role, Amy will oversee the newly formed Department of Residential Living and Education and will be responsible for the development, administration, management, and leadership of the Residential Living and Education program. Her responsibilities include oversight of programs such as the Residential Learning Model, Student Welfare, student staff and leadership development, as well as the management of comprehensive residential facilities across all regional campuses.
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Student Life, the Director collaborates with colleagues throughout the Division of Student Life and Enrollment and with key campus stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality residential programs and services for the UConn community, aligned with institutional goals and priorities. The Director is also charged with developing programs and environments that foster student success and personal growth within the residence halls.
Amy began her career in higher education in 2000 as the Assistant Director of Residential Life at Central Connecticut State University. In 2002, she joined the University of Connecticut as the Coordinator of Conference Housing, managing the Visiting Scholar Program and summer and conference housing. In 2009, she transitioned from Residential Life Operations to the role of Assistant Director of Housing Services. In 2015, she was appointed Interim Associate Director of Housing, and in 2020, she became Interim Director of Residence Education. In this position, Amy led the Residence Education team, developed the Residential Learning Model, enhanced DEI initiatives, and enriched the Student Welfare program.
In the fall of 2022, Amy assumed the role of Interim Director of Residential Life. This expanded position included her previous Residence Education responsibilities along with a new focus on residential facilities. During this time, she supported the expansion of the residential community in Stamford, served on the Connecticut Hall project team from design through implementation, supervised the opening of Connecticut Hall, and provided leadership for the expansion of campus housing at The Oaks at Storrs.
Amy earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Southern Connecticut State University in 1993 and a Master of Science in Counseling with a concentration in Higher Education from Central Connecticut State University in 2002.

APPOINTS Director of Housing Administration and Finance
The Division of Student Life and Enrollment has appointed Kim Proulx as the Director of Housing Administration and Finance. In this role, Kim will lead the newly formed Department of Housing Administration and Finance, providing vision and strategic leadership to develop occupancy initiatives aligned with the university’s priorities of student success, personal development, and well-being. She will be responsible for the administration and management of systems, protocols, processes, and policies related to occupancy management, safety, security, risk mitigation, and finance.
Her responsibilities include oversight of the Housing Services unit, the fiscal unit, complex occupancy processes, and the planning and management of housing across all regional campuses. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Student Life, the Director collaborates with colleagues across the Division of Student Life and Enrollment and other key campus stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality housing services for the UConn community, in alignment with institutional goals and priorities.
Kim began her professional career in 2005 as a Hall Director in Residential Life at UConn, where she oversaw two residential areas and helped launch the Global House Learning Community. In 2009, she transitioned to the Housing Services administrative unit, marking a pivotal point in her career in higher education as she began working in occupancy management and analysis.
In 2015, Kim was appointed Interim Associate Director of Housing Services, a role she assumed permanently in 2017. In this position, Kim strategically used data and metrics to enhance operational efficiency, improve the residential experience, expand learning/living community opportunities, and ensure equity for students requiring accommodations and specialized services.
In 2020, Kim became the Interim Director of Housing Services, successfully leading the housing team through significant occupancy changes during the pandemic and the subsequent recovery period. In 2022, she was appointed Interim Director of Residential Life, taking on comprehensive oversight of housing administration and fiscal management. In this capacity, Kim once again led a team of professionals through a period of major growth and transformation, including the planning and implementation of residential housing at the regional campuses.
Kim earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the University of Connecticut in 2003 and a Master of Arts in International Studies from UConn in 2005.
