  • Appointment:Senior Director for Student Activities

    Dear UConn Community,

I’m pleased to share that after a highly competitive and thoughtful search process, Trisha Hawthorne-Noble, has been officially appointed as the Senior Director for Student Activities, effective June 27, 2025.

For the past year, Trisha has been serving Student Activities in the interim capacity, during which she has demonstrated outstanding leadership, deep institutional knowledge, and a steadfast commitment to fostering student engagement, belonging, and success. We are thrilled that she will continue to bring this same energy, vision, and purpose to the role on a permanent basis.

Trisha is a two-time UConn alumna, a licensed master social worker, and a current Ed.D. candidate in Educational Leadership. Over her tenure at the University in multiple departments and roles, she has led and contributed to numerous high-impact initiatives, all grounded in her student-centered and equity-driven approach. From implementing data-informed strategies that improve retention and engagement, to developing leadership and service programs that empower students to make meaningful contributions, Trisha’s work consistently reflects her passion for students and her commitment to excellence.

Beyond her work at UConn, she brings a rich background in nonprofit leadership, athletics, and executive operations—perspectives that continue to shape her dynamic approach to student success. Most importantly, she is the proud wife of UConn alum Dwayne Noble and mother to three beautiful children: Jayne, Jianna, and Jamoy.

Please join me in congratulating Trisha on this well-deserved appointment. I look forward to all that the Student Activities team will accomplish under her continued leadership.

    Sincerely,

    Tadarrayl M. Starke, Ed.D.
