  • Upgrade or Replace Windows 10 PCs by 10/14/25

The Windows 10 operating system (OS) will be out of support starting October 14, 2025. Microsoft will stop providing updates, support, or security fixes for devices running the legacy OS, and the devices will be vulnerable to security threats.

To remain compliant and secure, all university-owned Windows devices must be running Windows 11 before October 15th. Because of the significant security risk, ITS will begin to prohibit Windows 10 devices from being connected to the UConn network once the OS is no longer supported and patched.

    • If you are unable to upgrade to Windows 11, you must replace the device. Contact your fiscal administrator or IT contact right away. We have a time-sensitive subsidy program available (ends June 23rd) to support replacements.
