With over 30 years of supporting student success, the UConn Connects program is designed to assist students on academic notice (formerly known as academic probation) or who are seeking additional support at UConn, through mentorship over a semester.
Staff, Faculty and Graduate Students at UConn are a critical part of the Connects mentor community because of their ability to:
- Share their own life experiences
- Assist students in navigating college life beyond academics
- Relate to our diverse student population
- Build a network of support at UConn to help students succeed!
As a result of our program, UConn Connects participants have an 85% continuation rate at the University, demonstrating that mentorship is instrumental in changing the lives of students who struggle at UConn. Beyond the immediate benefit of returning to good standing, the impact for students includes milestones such as internship placements, graduation, admission to graduate and professional programs, as well as becoming mentors to students like themselves at UConn and beyond.
